Regulars and museum visitors relax and dine beneath the white and purple flowers and vine-wrapped trellis, the air redolent from the nearby sea. Creative seasonal fare arrives as a candied-pecan salad with julienned Granny Smith apples, Gorgonzola, rosemary-lemon chicken and organic greens, dressed up with chef Giuseppe Ciuffa’s special balsamic vinaigrette. A healthy lentil soup sings with flavor, while the black bean chili will also please vegetarians. For those desiring something a little heavier, the cove burger goes gourmet with chipotle aïoli, onion marmalade and melted smoked Gouda. For a decadent bite, try the chef's butternut squash panino made with Bread & Cie sourdough, truffle oil, manchego, wild arugula and mozzarella. Breakfast means artichokes scrambled with egg whites, pesto and sun-dried tomatoes, or piquant huevos rancheros.
