Nando's Peri-Peri Restaurant Review:
Its first U.S. destination was in DC, and this casual, Portuguese-inspired restaurant group now has outlets all around the metro area. The affordable, flavor-packed food includes well-prepared chicken dishes (the half chicken with chips has been the signature item), assorted snacks and chicken platters. Garlic sticks made with Portuguese buns are a good starter, and if you’re not ready for a full or even partial chicken dinner with peri-peri seasoning, head for the sandwiches, such as the chicken breast wrap or the chicken burger consisting of cooked breast meat served with cheese and pineapple bits. Mashed peas and Portuguese rice are among sides. For dessert, consider the thick, ultra-rich chocolate-chocolate chip cookie and a buttery brownie.
