Nasher Museum Cafe Restaurant Review:
Nasher Museum Café offers seasonally driven dishes inspired by the art and architecture of Duke University’s art museum. Wholesome meal-size salads include Asian cabbage with cashews and edamame, and roasted beets with chèvre and walnuts. Sandwiches are filling, particularly the turkey panino with sauerkraut and the Nasher burger with onion jam and goat cheese. The café opens for dinner every Thursday with a limited yet satisfying menu that includes a juicy rib-eye with truffle butter and seared fresh grouper with peach salsa. Spiced orange crème brûlée or the lemon cheesecake with fresh blackberry sauce (both sharable) should not be missed. A few well-chosen wines are available (and they’re not expensive). What a lovely dining circumstance with either a window view of "In the Bushes," a monumental metal piece by Mark di Suvero, or at a table on the patio within gazing distance of the same work.
