THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Native Seafood & Trading Co. Restaurant Review:
A creative and candid menu with heavy emphasis on seafood helps Native Seafood to stand out. When the seafood has been frozen, they tell you so. But, mainly, the emphasis is on fresh fish. The Black Grouper Vera Cruz, for instance, is a sautéed 6-ounce filet topped with garlic, capers, cilantro, tomato and an olive salsa. Or try the Salmon Tierra Verde, named for the nearby waterfront community. Here, the 6-ounce filet is brushed with a Key lime marinade, wood-grilled and served with a watercress dill sauce. Another favorite: wood grilled or blackened tuna, a center cut cooked to order and served with wasabi cream, soy sauce and pickled ginger. No freebies are necessary to keep happy diners coming back, but we get some anyway in the form of an Ocean Reserve Note with the motto In Fish We Trust that offers Five Fishbucks off the next meal.
