Navy Beach Restaurant Review:
Navy Beach’s proximity to the shoreline means that it takes full advantage of the sunset over the water, which is its main draw. Some outdoor tables are directly on the sand, combining the best of both restaurant dining and al fresco picnics. Be sure to make a special request for these tables when reserving or risk disappointment. The food stands up fine, with local classics like crab cakes, chowder, fried fish and grilled scallops. An assortment of more carnivorous offerings like a dry-aged New York strip as well as pasta dishes and the requisite gourmet burger can also be found. Trendy small plates are good for sharing over cocktails or a beer or glass of wine. Given the importance of location here, it's no surprise that after Labor Day the restaurant’s open times are severely reduced to the weekends only, and at the end of September, the restaurant closes until April.
