Breakfast is the busiest time of day in this modest strip-center diner that serves up as much bagels and lox as it does eggs and bacon. In fact, the menu features an entire section called Fish Box, which also offers chub, sable and kippered salmon on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and olives. For an authentic deli sandwich, kosher salami, corned beef, pastrami and knockwurst are waiting to be put between two slices of bread, preferably rye. Whitefish and pickled and creamed herring exemplify the place’s roots, but such all-American favorites as burgers and hot dogs are also found. Don't miss the blintzes, served with sour cream, applesauce or a dusting of cinnamon.
