THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Nickiemoto's Restaurant Review:
Defining the menu at this Pan-Asian Midtown establishment are Thai-, Vietnamese- and Chinese-influenced dishes, some of them well-prepared vegetarian and vegan items. Whole sizzling catfish and various sushi and sashimi combinations are the most popular items, but there is plenty to choose from. The best deals are the generous salads, such as the spicy rare beef with lemon grass, onion, basil, peanuts and cabbage. Tender, crispy calamari make a good appetizer to share, and the salt-and-Szechwan pepper prawns come generously mounded on a bed of greens for a light lunch entrée. Drawn from a specific list, dollar sushi lunch runs to 2:30 p.m. daily and all day Tuesday and Sunday. The geisha drag show on Monday night starting at 8:30 p.m. draws wildly enthusiastic crowds (no cover charge), so reservations are a good idea. You must order dinner, not just come for the show. The wine list offers many selections by the glass, but the choices are uninspired and non-harmonious with the food. From 4 p.m.-7 p.m. daily, half-priced dumplings are offered, along with some drink specials.
