No Vacancy Restaurant Review:
Set in an old Victorian house in Hollywood, No Vacancy is a speakeasy-inspired bar and lounge complete with a secret entrance. It's a project from Houston Hospitality, the nightlife and restaurant group owned by brothers Mark and Jonnie Houston (Butchers & Barbers, La Descarga, Harvard & Stone, etc.). There's live entertainment, including a burlesque show, and a short menu of burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches courtesy of In Yo! Grill and chef Kayson Chong. The "Porkinator" sandwich combines braised pork belly with cheddar, pickles and sriracha aïoli, while the "Jam-Jam" features dates, caramelized onions, blue cheese, Gruyère and tomato jam. Keep it simple and order an Old Fashioned or select one of the house specialty cocktails like the China Doll, made with CapRock gin, jasmine water, lemon, egg white and coconut jasmine cream.
