Nobu Malibu Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: The Malibu branch of chef Nobu Matsuhisa's eponymous restaurant relocated to this perch right on the Pacific Ocean. The huge, gorgeous space encompasses a dining room and bar with floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor patio, exterior lounge and private room.
Food & Drinks: Nobu fans know what to expect: from sushi, sushi rolls and sashimi to skewers, tempura and tobanyaki. Also familiar are signature dishes such as toro tartare, monkfish pâté with caviar, and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño from the "Cold Dishes," and black cod with miso, squid pasta with a light garlic sauce, and Japanese Wagyu beef among the "Hot Dishes." There's also a section of "Nobu Now" including lobster sweet and sour, albacore with Meyer lemon, and mini tacos (tuna, uni, rib-eye, shrimp, lobster or vegetarian). The dessert bento box of dark chocolate fondant grants a sweet finale to the meal. The wine list is primarily composed of Californian selections, and there are also signature sakés available that are made exclusively for Nobu's restaurants. Also located at 903 N. La Cienega Blvd., West Hollywood, 310-657-5711.
