Nourish Cafe Restaurant Review:
When the word "tuna" is cushioned between quotation marks on a restaurant's menu, you know the meat-avoidant will find safe harbor there. Founded by three friends who met at a fitness bootcamp, tiny and family-friendly Nourish serves prettily plated, well-planned, 100 percent vegan salads, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, soups, smoothies and that emergent café category: toasts. Among the latter, which are (naturally) available on either regular or gluten-free breads, bold cross-cultural souls will enjoy smooth, seductively smoky-tasting adzuki bean miso. They'll also like bibimbap salad: Korea's soft, hot, comfort-tastic national dish reimagined with brown jasmine rice, avocado and oil-free sriracha-miso dressing. The "tuna" in certain sandwiches and salads is house-made with nuts and seeds. Servings are large; a falafel wrap or banana-and-coconut-crowned acai bowl will fill and fortify you. For a stand-up-your-straw-in-it satisfying smoothie that doubles as dessert, try the Baker Beach Banana Chocolate, which contains banana, cacao, dates, almond milk, almond butter and vanilla.
