The Original Hot Dog Shop Restaurant Review:
Bargain-basement prices are one reason droves show up at this corner eatery that has nourished decades of university students, fast-food scholars and visiting celebrities. The Original Hot Dog Shop opened in 1960 and over the years has developed a name for itself when it comes to pizzas, salads, chicken strips and sandwiches, but the buzz is about the hot dogs. The fries, twice cooked in peanut oil to produce crispiness, are among the best in town. Savvy patrons eat them with “gravy.” Note: The bar serves only beer but offers more than 400 microbrews and craft labels.
