Outback Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
Brazenly Australian on the outside, this popular steakhouse chain is American through and through. But the gimmick works, even though you won’t even find grilled kangaroo. You will find boomerangs, Aussie paraphernalia, and medium-quality steaks served in fairly generous portions. No meal is really complete here without their Bloomin’ Onion, their oil-drenched and trademarked appetizer that’s had many copycats. Steaks, of course, are their claim to fame, but their choice cuts aren’t always tender. If you want beef, pay extra for the prime. Or select one of their nonbeef dishes, including chicken, pork chops, and grilled baby back ribs. You’ll probably find a line at mealtimes, so if you want to eat and run, order ahead for their take-out service, available at most locations. Note: Outback opens earlier than normal dinner time, so arrive ahead of the crowds.
