THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Oy Vey! Deli Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED It doesn’t take much to overcome a cheesecake craving with something like this quirky deli at hand. There behind its glass case sit slices of perhaps the creamiest cheesecake this side of Manhattan’s Carnegie Deli, which is actually the source for this dessert. As you might expect by the name, New York’s best eats have inspired the menu, for patrons can tuck into take-offs on some of Carnegie Deli’s hottest, hippest sandwiches---think Bubbe & Zadie with corned beef and chopped liver on challah or Thomas’ Reuben with corned beef, sauerkraut, and melted Swiss on rye. Hands down, our favorite is the very sloppy, drippy Sammy G’s Prince, a grilled, two-fisted sandwich with pastrami, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, and melted Swiss on pumpernickel. Other NY treats include bagels and bialys with favorite toppings, chicken noodle soup with matzoh balls, and noodle kugel and potato latkes as “side kicks.” It’s all very Manhattanish, and you certainly won't leave here hungry.
