THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Palm Grille Restaurant Review:
Originally Max’s Beach Place, born of prolific restaurateur Dennis Max, Palm Grille serves the same menu items that made Max’s such a draw. But this time around, it’s “affordable gourmet.” This means the passion still comes through in nouvelle comfort food in a bistro atmosphere. Expect the same bubbly but refined service, and a sleek bar scene. The impossibly gargantuan salads are meals. Mighty meatloaf and pistachio-crusted grouper wow the taste buds as well as the appetite. Dozens of Pacific Rim inspirations influence the once entirely American menu. Meals are served as comfortably at the bar as in the plush booths and banquettes. Rich and playful desserts are American through and through. Banana upside-down cake, anyone?
