Palo Alto Sol Restaurant Review:
The Peninsula is blessed with an abundance of good burrito joints and fine taquerias. However, finding a truly great Mexican restaurant between San Jose and San Francisco can be a challenge. Palo Alto Sol is definitely a diamond in the rough. This longtime favorite draws locals from around the Peninsula for its sensational salsas, mouth-watering sauces and tantalizing seafood dishes. The colorful and friendly restaurant is also a great place to sample some terrific tequilas, either by the shot (prefaced by a lick of salt and followed by a suck of lime) or mixed in a margarita. Palo Alto Sol does a fine job with all the standard taco, enchilada and burrito dishes. But one can find that basically anywhere. The recommendation here is to try one of the specialty seafood dishes such as the camarones al cilantro. Also, anything with the dense, chocolatey mole sauce will likely be a winner.
