Patrenella's Restaurant Review:
This mom-and-pop neighborhood restaurant welcomes guests with an overflowing vegetable garden in the side yard of its tidy white bungalow. The kitchen staff has an affinity for tomatoes, which are put to good use in first-rate sauces. Whether you order veal, chicken or shrimp, you can count on garlic, butter or broth, fresh basil, Parmesan and other flavors working in concert. Evening specials vary from imaginative pastas in walnut-based sauces to baked pastas such as traditional lasagna and eggplant Parmigiana. Sometimes, the treat is a dish filled with vegetables fresh from the aforementioned garden. Service can be uneven, but the food, including very good mini meatballs made with veal, will make up for any possible mishap. Don’t miss the authentic homemade cannolis for dessert.
