Boogaloo Restaurant Review:

The row of swings --- yes, swings --- hanging from the ceiling take the place of bar stools, and they draw everyone’s attention to the spirits side of the house (for those already slightly unstable, standard bar stools can be found in the other room). They're a great place to linger over cocktails, either a standard mojito or a more creative combination like the Cuban Cooler with apple wood-smoked ice. Boogaloo’s culinary journey begins around New Orleans and heads south, presumably via banana boat, to cover the Caribbean and a little of South America as well. Standouts include braised flank steak, house-smoked jerk chicken and a paella-esque seafood and rice dish. Last stop on the culinary cruise: tres leches cake. The dining room with its pressed-tin ceiling, alligator skin wallpaper and casual feel draws both the youngish and the hip to the up-and-coming Maplewood neighborhood.
