Cajun Queen Restaurant Review:
Cajun Queen’s historic home atmosphere and nightly jazz accompany its bold New Orleans flavors. Soak up the juices of a very good barbecued shrimp appetizer with some of the dinner rolls. Entrée standouts include chicken, shrimp and crawfish (or choose all three) prepared in a Diane, Creole or etouffée style served over rice. We also recommend the blackened pork tenderloin with chorizo black bean sauce, chipotle chili cream, fried plantains and pineapple salsa. For dessert, go for the bourbon bread pudding. The drinks list offers some of the classics --- the Hurricane and the Sazerac --- and plenty of beers (this is a beer cuisine; need we say more?), and there’s a fairly ordinary albeit lengthy selection of wines. A good rosé would work well with this fare.
