Chez Lucienne Menu
Harlem’s first French bistro sits on its busiest shopping street.
Chez Lucienne Restaurant Review:
Opened by former staff from other notable NYC French restaurants, including Daniel and Le Bernardin, Chez Lucienne brings affordable French dining to the busy 125th Street shopping area of Harlem. In a comfortable room, with a small bar for waiting patrons, the restaurant offers a menu of traditional French bistro food. While consistency in quality can be an issue, the restaurant is earnest in its goal of introducing the neighborhood to French and Moroccan cuisine. Among the best dishes are the onion soup with a golden crust of Gruyère cheese, a simple green salad with a light garlicky dressing, and a skirt steak served with frites nicely crisped and served in a traditional paper cone. Skip the overly sweet cocktails and enjoy the restaurant’s wine selections that extend beyond French.
