Decca Restaurant Review:
Classic tunes from Decca Recording Company waft through the restaurant via the sound system, setting the mood. Exposed brick, warm wood and a second-floor dining veranda holding about nine tables that overlooks the ground level provide a handsome physical link to the past. Chef Annie Pettry’s menu, on the other hand, is delectably modern. Her knowledge of each ingredient’s virtues means that you might even be tempted to order seconds of broccoli (it’s wood-smoked). Pettry takes advantage of the seasons, but among frequently encountered dishes are pan-roasted mussels, duck liver terrine, charred escarole salad, wood-grilled entrées (chicken, lamb, fish, beef), and the occasional pasta main course. Any dessert made with chocolate should be ordered. The carefully chosen wine list and craft cocktails complement the food, and The Cellar Lounge features live jazz and small plates. Staff always make guests feel welcome and provide recommendations based on your preferences.
