Roosters Restaurant Review:

Old Ogden charm and spunk combine in the two-story, historic building of mottled brick walls, waxy hardwood and tile floors. Built in 1890, the structure was everything from a brothel to an antique store before owners Pete and Kym Buttschardt packed the place with model roosters and crafted their own tasty microbrew. The menu intersperses traditional brewpub fare with Italian and Mexican dishes --- some hit, some miss. For lunch, sandwiches like the blackened salmon with Beehive cheese, tomato, rémoulade and baby greens on homemade focaccia steal the show; dinner favorites include pepper jack pasta with sautéed shrimp, marinated chicken breast, and bowtie noodles simmered in a creamy pepper jack sauce. Opt for the humongous plate of beer-battered onion loops instead of mashed potatoes. Dessert lovers will like the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, big enough for four.
