THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sticky Rice Restaurant Review:

Sticky Rice is a “fusion” restaurant in a couple of senses. Yes, it mixes Asian food with such casual Americanisms as "tater tots," hot wings and Pabst Blue Ribbon. But, more to the point, it’s a lively mash-up of the classic sushi bar and hipster youth culture. The surroundings set the mood: a former old-school bar, complete with pressed tin ceiling and black-and-white tile floor, has been retrofitted with hanging orange lanterns and a manga-style carp mural. Servers drop by to recommend favorite dishes, leaning in close to be heard over the blasting rock music. And hardly anyone in the place is on the shady side of thirty. If this sounds like your scene, here’s the way to go: steer clear of the sushi standards and opt for the wilder signature stuff, such as the Sushi Burrito (rice paper-wrapped tempura shrimp with spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeño, green onion and sushi rice with a side of creamy ponzu sauce) or Sticky Balls (a deep-fried concoction involving tuna, crab and rice). The menu also offers noodle bowls and plenty of choices for those of the vegetarian persuasion.
