Piccolino Restaurant Review:
This west side eatery serves up family-style Italian food and tasty thick crust pizzas (you won't find New York-style pizza in Santa Fe, thanks to the altitude). Order the California pie topped with goat cheese, vegetables and sun-dried tomatoes, or the “real meaty delight,” crowned appropriately with bacon, sausage, meatballs and pepperoni. Soups are always good, especially the stracciatella and minestrone, and pasta dishes can be made with your choice of spaghetti, linguine, angel hair, penne or fettuccine. Hearty favorites include the chicken Parmigiana and lasagna boloco, loaded with chicken, green chili, provolone, mozzarella and Alfredo sauce. Consider finishing your meal with homemade tiramisu. Piccolino, with its checkered tablecloths and happy chatty regulars, has the feel of a homey neighborhood restaurant, and the service is zippy.
