Piccolo Sogno Due Restaurant Review:
Ideal for power lunches, after-work dinners, and destination three-to-four-course dining, Tony Priolo’s second Piccolo Sogno outpost in River North showcases homemade pastas, with a spotlight on seafood dishes. If grilled octopus or baccala (salt cod) grace the menu, don’t pass them by. The lasagnette, with silky ribbon noodles and tender veal meatballs, is a stand-out, as is the simple tortelli, stuffed delicately with Parmesan and ricotta, in an udon-like, savory saba broth. For lunch, grilled panini are composed with prosciutto, roasted vegetables and more. A robust wine list changes frequently and offers plenty of approachable and splurge-worthy finds, including some nice bubbly. For finishing touches, look for anything with chocolate, pistachios or in torte form.
