Pio Pio Restaurant Review:

Pio Pio’s exterior gives little indication of its cavernous interior, but once inside you'll want to settle in for the evening. Start at the upstairs bar, selecting a cocktail from the thoughtful and extensive pisco menu. South American wines are well represented on the short wine list. Downstairs, the cave-like dining room can accommodate large parties and food is served in generous portions, perfect for sharing. Almost every table partakes of the restaurant’s specialty: moist roast chicken served with various sides. The Matador Combo with rice and beans, tostones, salchipapas (french fries with hot dog bits) and an avocado salad could comfortably feed four. Other Peruvian staples include ceviche, causas and lomo saltado for those on the hunt for something other than chicken. Desserts all have a tropical accent. Try the tres leches cake with pisco banana brûlée or the classic rice pudding with roasted pineapple.
