Pizzetta 211 Restaurant Review:
Way out in the avenues of the outer Richmond, a warm glow falls on the sidewalk in front of this solo storefront that attracts thin-crust pizza devotees from far and wide who want to feast on some of the best this city has to offer while enjoying intimate views of the modest kitchen. The pizzas are individually sized wonders with cracker-crisp bottoms, chewy rims and Italian toppings. The simple freshness of tomato purée with mozzarella and basil is a stand-out. A heartier pie arrives with thinly sliced prosciutto and roasted asparagus crowned with two over-easy eggs. Calzones and cheese-studded salads are filling options as well. For dessert, try the house-made flourless chocolate cake or the rustic polenta cake with a dollop of whipped cream. An enticingly international wine and beer list includes imports from Alsace, the Loire Valley, Sicily, Belgium, Iceland and beyond.
