Points South Latin Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Vibrant colored flags, twinkle lights, numerous potted flowers and plants adorn the exterior of the brightly painted Points South. Patrons fill the al fresco tables, bi-level dining rooms and the bar to drink the spicy margaritas or a glass of Callia Alta Torrontés. The wine list is generously populated with selections from Argentina, Chile and points south. Eat light with tapas, like tacos, Chesapeake Bay oysters or ceviche. Dinner offerings will have you exclaiming “Olé” once the cangrejo y aguacate (jumbo lump crab, creamy mojo and avocado topping a crispy yucca cake) or the pulpo a la parilla (grilled octopus, pepita romesco, green olive and chili-dusted jícama) tantalize your taste buds with multiple flavors, spice and textures. Waitstaff will inform you of the daily specials from the butcher and local waterways, or you can indulge in the bistec a la parilla or the caldo de mariscos. As an added plus, everything is gluten-free, even the desserts, such as the chocolate volcano cake and the coconut white chocolate tres leches bread pudding. Weather permitting, grab an outdoor seat not only to enjoy the food and drink, but also the entertaining people-watching.
