Polpo Restaurant Review:
Polpo’s ambience draws from its intimate dining room with soft lighting, white tablecloths and warm wood tones. Overhanging foliage, stone façades and Doric columns round out the elegant setting. A glass-enclosed space on the second floor allows for year-round dining with a view; a piano bar with nightly entertainment and al fresco seating in season make the restaurant versatile. The menu features traditional Italian favorites. Start with tender grilled Mediterranean octopus and cannellini beans over arugula. Then choose from an array of al dente pastas. An orecchiette alla barese --- ear-shaped pasta with broccoli rabe and fresh homemade sausage --- and a rigatoni melanzana with roasted eggplant and fresh mozzarella reflect the restaurant's classic Italian preparations. Finish with berries soaked in Grand Marnier and served with vanilla ice cream or perhaps the homemade apple pie à la mode. A wine list featuring Italian regional bottles complements the menu.
