Ponte Vecchio Italian Seafood Grille Restaurant Review:
Ponte Vecchio is a pretty little restaurant with a décor and menu inspired by the famous bridge in Florence, Italy. Seafood is the star, but there are plenty of meat and poultry dishes too. Although the raw bar is good and the appetizer list extensive, the humble fried shoestring zucchini dusted with fresh ground Parmesan is addictive. The kitchen does best with simple preparations such as zuppa di clams or baked filet of tilapia oreganata that arrives at the table fragrant with herb bread crumbs and glazed with a well-made Chardonnay beurre blanc sauce. We also recommend the seafood pastas, especially a rather sumptuous rendition of seafood fra diavolo that includes shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and calamari sautéed in a spicy red sauce and served on a bed of linguine. The kids’ menu has more than the usual offerings with chicken Parm and tortellini Alfredo among the choices. Desserts are tempting but not especially memorable. Staff is efficient but lacks polish.
