Postino Restaurant Review:
Housed in the former Arcadia post office, Postino has the chic but cozy good looks of a Crate & Barrel ad. This friendly wine bar (still outfitted with massive sliding doors from its postal incarnation) has everything going for it: a short but sophisticated wine list, wine-friendly snacks, and the kind of comfortable atmosphere that encourages lingering over a heartfelt conversation and a bottle of something elegant. It’s equally popular at lunch as it is dinner, and as for happy hour --- by 5 p.m., the place is filling up with an after-work crowd, there for wines-by-the-glass and a selection of bruschetta (try the prosciutto with figs and mascarpone). Over the years, the menu has grown to include sandwiches and salads, like a roast beef and Port Salut panino, raspberry chicken salad, and salted caramel sundae stabbed with a pretzel stick and corn nuts. Get there early and you can grab a velvet-upholstered couch or chair near the sliding doors, which are always up in good weather. Other locations.
