Purple Haze has nothing to do with the Jimi Hendrix Experience but is all about tasty and inexpensive Thai food. While lunch deals are a great value, this place---decorated in deep and velvety purple, tables covered in monk-yellow cloth, fresh flowers and candles to the side---comes into its own at nighttime. Menu-wise, there are lots of light options including a dozen salads---try the cashew nut and lemon grass---and soups, with several incarnations of the mouth-burning tom yum. But the real delights are the curries, which are rich and coconut-creamy and include plenty of vegetarian and chunky seafood options. The wine list is nothing to write home about, but there is a good choice of southeast Asian beers.
