THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Queen of Sheba Restaurant Review:
The novice diner to this Bellaire-area hideaway is immediately reassured by the many Ethiopian nationals enjoying the flavors of that region of Africa. But be sure to wash your hands before venturing into this authentic Ethiopian diner because most dishes are eaten with the fingers, assisted by injera, a bread used to scoop up the food. For a real taste of this far-away culture, try the vegetarian dishes, a trademark of Ethiopian cuisine. Misser wote is a spicy lentil stew, while yatakelt wote consists of fresh vegetables, garlic and spices. Meat lovers will also be satisfied, once they try the ever-popular kitfo, steak tartare prepared with butter and spices. Queen of Sheba also specializes in stews, another big part of this regions cuisine. Favorite concoctions include yebeg wote, with spicy lamb; tibs wote, hot or mild beef; shimbra assa wot, made with deep-fried chick-pea flour; and doro wot, brewed with chicken and herbs and served with a boiled egg.
