THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Raphael's Bar-Risto Restaurant Review:

Ralph Conte is a real iconoclast in the world of Providence-style Italian food. He takes American influences, Italian traditionalism and a personal flair for dramatics and fashions them into a whole that appeals in the same way as the timpano in the movie, Big Night: so different and outlandish at times that one can’t help but love it. In this case, that applies to Raphael’s overall. The wine list is full of blockbuster reds, and the menu “oomph” is in the many daily specials. Some are tradition tweaked slightly; it’s all in good fun and, most often, good taste as well.
