Real Food & Spirits Restaurant Review:
The Urquhart family owns this San Francisco-reminiscent pizzeria where old black-and-white movies like "Casablanca" or Charlie Chaplin silents play on a giant screen above two 900-degree Italian ovens. Mark Urquhart went to Tony Gemignani’s International School of Pizza and learned the art of authentic Napoletana-style pies. For a rustic thin-crust style, try the classic margherita to savor the simple flavors of organic Bianco DiNapoli tomato sauce, fresh basil, sea salt and mozzarella fior di latte. Or go artisan-style with the Americano, loaded with provolone, house-made tomato sauce, homemade fennel sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, red onion and green pepper. Clever salads mingle interesting ingredients: quinoa, garbanzo purée, green onion, mint, feta, sunflower seeds and arugula; or goat cheese with port-glazed cherries. We believe that an order of meatballs or truffle fries are both worthy shares. Craving a burger? Apple wood-smoked bacon is added to the house-ground beef. End the meal with gelato. At the full bar, guests enjoy boutique wines and craft cocktails and beers.
