Red Fez Restaurant Review:
Red Fez is the type of eatery that more and more restaurateurs aim to create, yet fewer and fewer get right. So kudos to Red Fez for getting the hipster swagger pitch-perfect: black booths, vintage Ringling Bros. circus posters, and deer heads mounted on the avocado walls have certainly won the approval of the artsy-chic crowd. The upstairs bar, with its abundant taxidermy, may be the closest thing in Providence to a hunting lodge. But they’ve saved their biggest dose of eclecticism for the menu, on which one can find specials ranging from crab cakes with roasted corn relish and balsamic-glazed salmon to an Asian noodle bowl, as well as quesadillas and grilled cheese. It's stereotypical Food We Love, but it works for its earnest hominess and low cost. Besides, underlying the home-cooking ethos is culinary professionalism. In short, you're guaranteed fun here.
