Exposed brick walls and wood floors create a rustic vibe, but bright artwork and modern light fixtures give it a contemporary feel. The menu is far superior to what would be expected at a trendy bar, focusing on local, seasonal ingredients handcrafted into creative, yet unfussy, combinations, many with international flair. Starters include the tender, sweet-spicy Korean baby-back ribs and can't-eat-just-one fried Brussels sprouts, the latter offset with salty bacon and creamy chipotle aïoli. Mains include the guilt-inducing short rib melt, oozing with tangy white cheddar, as well as the simple grilled filet mignon topped with a fresh, grassy salsa verde.
