Red Stixs Restaurant Review:
A summertime outpost of the Manhattan establishment, this restaurant serves upscale Chinese food from May through September. With dishes from many different regions, there's something for everyone. Dim sum soup dumplings are possibly the best on the island; the satays forgo a more traditionally over-peanutty sauce in favor of fresher flavors; hand-pulled noodles are made in-house. Most of the main dishes are portioned for two, to encourage sharing. The chef also offers a tasting menu for six or more people. Tables are crammed together, meaning diners risk having the elbow of a stranger intrude on their experience. Atmosphere is quite typical of the Hamptons, with loud music that's far from authentic or traditional, but the food makes up for it, and the bar scene keeps folks happy, too.
