Reef Restaurant Review:
Regulars head to the rooftop patio known as the Tiki Lounge, where from spring through fall it's a challenge to find a seat. You'd be hard pressed to find better outdoor dining in Boise thanks to the tiki torches, first-rate cocktails and the wide open sky overhead. Inside, the rooms are filled with faux palm thatching and rattan, complemented by the crooning of Jimmy Buffett and Jack Johnson, while the island-inspired menu keeps the mood light even in midwinter. Pupus include rich deep-sea crab cakes and spicy jalapeño-pineapple barbecue-glazed pork ribs. Entrées range from a basic burger to a halibut steak, sweet chili coconut prawns with green curry and Jamaican jerk chicken. There's also a good mix of salads and tropical desserts such as Key lime pie. On a downside, the menu doesn't change much. If you want something faster and more casual, walk down one flight of stairs to order at the Red Door, the lively pizzeria served by the same kitchen.
