The Refuge Restaurant Review:

This flagship location of The Refuge (the second is in Menlo Park) boasts its wares in neon signs flanking the entrance: pastrami on one side, Belgian beers on the other. While the pastrami is not "classic" in the New York style (chopped instead of sliced, for one thing) it is quite good. The bound beer list is far beyond good --- extensive, exceptionally deep and distinguished. Tasting flights make it easier to choose for the neophyte, while hard-to-find and expensive beers will appeal to any expert. Beyond pastrami there are other sandwiches, from cheesesteaks to burgers, as well as soups, salads, dogs and even chicken liver. Feeling East Coast, yet?
