In a cool and minimalist setting, Sho-Dan displays a world of Japanese gastronomy that ranges from over-the-top sushi to impressive plays on traditional dishes and artistic presentations. The sushi list is notable for its nigiri, tamaki, maki and sashimi in a city where quality sushi is difficult to find. A mock-roll called October is a crowd-pleaser and the Spider maki makes an impact with its soft-shell crab. Other entrées tempt, such as seared ahi napped with a savory sauce, but sushi purists prefer to sit at the sushi bar and ask the chef what's fresh. Service is polished and efficient.
