This bright, attractive spot has much to recommend it. Owners wisely installed light-filtering shades so that the bright glare of a setting Southern sun doesn't disturb diners. Step up to the counter and place an order. We suggest the lettuce-filled Thai-style basil rolls, to be dipped into a tasty sauce. Portions are large enough to share, a budget consideration that should appeal to nearby university students. We also like the curry noodles and the pad thai; opt for shrimp as an added protein for the former and chicken in the latter. Soups are a flavorful addition to a meal, both hot-and-sour and a very fine mushroom broth with thinly sliced mushrooms floating on top. No desserts or alcohol, but everything is so satisfying, you won't care.
