The Riggsby Fine Food + Drink Restaurant Review:

Owned and overseen by chef Michael Schlow, The Riggsby Fine Food + Drink brings to the Dupont Circle area a quietly classy venue, very unlike his other DC eatery, Tico, which is wildly and colorfully Latin. With its dark woods, booths and elegant bar area, this spot looks like it could pass as a select men’s club. In fact, it is an ideally suitable place for power lunches off the beaten path. The creamy burrata appetizer comes with chopped fresh tomatoes and crunchy slices of French bread, and the sardines with fennel and pine nuts. These and other dishes introduce lunch and dinner menus that include every beloved American taste, from the all-American burger with bacon-onion jam and slow-cooked salmon, and at dinner, wild striped bass or Heritage Farms pork chops. Schlow’s desserts include an unusual goat’s milk cheesecake and a rich old-fashioned chocolate cake with a gooey center. Because the restaurant is in a hotel, patrons can enjoy standard and unusual --- as in a chorizo burrito --- breakfast fare. Wines and unusual libations are available, and if you drop by for weekday happy hours, you’ll encounter an interesting choice of cocktails.
