Ristorante Luciano's of Chicago Restaurant Review:
Ristorante Luciano's of Chicago originated, not surprisingly, in the namesake city in Illinois. However, that outpost is no longer around, so this is a one-of-a-kind establishment. Formerly a Bahamian prime minister's mansion, the place has been part of the Nassau landscape and food-scape since 2004. The veranda overlooks Nassau Harbour and the towers of Atlantis beyond, while indoors feels comfortably elegant. House specialties dwell within the realm of traditional regional Italian cuisine: osso buco, paella, veal piccata, and clay pot-roasted chicken with lemon, tomatoes and herbs. Seafood such as grilled mahi, snapper cioppino, grilled shrimp oreganata and grouper al aglio is mostly local product prepared with Italian accents. You can choose from more than a dozen varieties of pasta in either full or half portions. The lunch menu offers many of the same dishes plus individual pizzas and panini. Rich desserts include the signature chocolate rum raisin bread pudding with caramel sauce and rum raisin ice cream. The extensive wine list goes heavy on the Italians, but also proposes global selections, many of which are available by the glass. Service is attentive.
