THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ritual Restaurant Review:
THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Industrial chic décor belies the fact that this craft-beer spot in The Heights has menu roots in old-time Texas meat. Co-owner Felix Florez --- who founded Black Hill Ranch, which raises heritage pigs --- oversees the wine selection and supplies the beef. For lunch try the Angry Bird, a fried chicken breast with a cayenne pepper rub, maple glaze, pickles, smoked garlic mayonnaise and a side of potato salad. And if that’s not enough, indulge in the homemade dark chocolate pie with burnt bourbon marshmallows. It's down-home food that will stick to your ribs. Dinner options range from sourdough hush puppies and country ham butter on a cheddar biscuit to a plate fashioned with a slab of cast-iron-seared rib-eye and a fried potato stuffed with bacon jam, queso blanco, sour cream, chives and beef butter. Yes, beef butter. On Sundays, check out the craft brunch cocktails and the butcher’s breakfast --- a heaping portion of grilled rib-eye, kielbasa sausage, house-made bacon, a fried duck egg, cheese grits and home fries.
