Roaring Fork Restaurant Review:
Belly up to the bar along with the young professionals, legislators and visiting hotel guests and nosh on house-cured beef jerky or smoked salmon nachos. Happy hour brings in throngs for frosty huckleberry margaritas and a half-priced bar menu that includes the famous "Big Ass" Burger that could easily feed two. Our favorite dish could be the barbecued ribs, which get a night-before bath in Dr. Pepper that has them sliding off the bone with the gentlest of touch. On occasion, you may find yourself absconding to the proper dining room, with its limestone walls, copper and leather accents, and roaring fireplace providing a cozy feel. For dinner entrées, the pork porterhouse is always a safe bet along with the rich green-chili macaroni and cheese. Listen up to the dinner specials, which can be first-rate, like fresh trout stuffed with lump crab meat draped in a rich cream corn sauce.
