Roberta's Restaurant Review:
An homage to the fresh farming movement with its own rooftop garden, Roberta’s is a rustic wonderland where the food is simple and flavorful, and the setting is like a hipster indoor picnic. The restaurant has a cramped, busy bar scene where you wait until your no-reservations-allowed table comes through. If the weather’s nice, there are several outdoor drinking areas as well, some tented for bad weather. Roberta’s daily-changing menu is a mix of small plates, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and meats. Pizzas are the stars of the show, ranging from the standard margherita to daily creations topped with a mix of cheeses, vegetables like Brussels sprouts, and meats including prosciutto and sopressata. Non-pizza options are surprisingly gourmet, such as the silky foie gras with almond, black pepper and apple. Salads reflect the season, with variations such as squash with aged Gouda. A rich Berkshire pork chop definitely held its own, roasted in a wood oven and served with sweet potato and fennel. Desserts are topped with homemade gelato --- try the salted vanilla over an olive oil cake if it’s on the menu. Creative cocktails, regional beers and wines are available.
