Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery Restaurant Review:
Rock Bottom Brewery, founded in Denver, Colo., in 1991, brews on-site producing beers that range from pale ales and light lagers to a solid stout. The brews are decent, but most lack a mid-palate and depth of flavor. Southern Flyer lies gently on the tongue so might appeal more to patrons who prefer a lighter touch. The Sweet Magnolia, Rock Bottom’s nutty brown ale, achieves stardom in the house-made barbecue sauce applied to chicken and ribs. Other house favorites include steak BLT sliders, along with popular nachos and wings, burgers and sandwiches. Ask about seasonal offerings, such as an Oktoberfest smoked pork loin with Jack Daniel's apple raisin sauce, mashed redskin potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables. For dessert, go for the carrot cake or triple-chocolate brownie. Casual service and the wide-reaching menu pack in the uptown work crowd during lunch on weekdays. A complete renovation resulted in a refined, clubby interior with lots of TVs and a wood-rich décor.
