Roxanne's Cocktail Lounge Restaurant Review:

Located in North Long Beach a few blocks from the city’s elegant Bixby Knolls neighborhood, this unpretentious restaurant/bar packs in the locals looking to kick back with good food, great drinks and a fun atmosphere. The lounge seating, pool table and vintage furniture accents instill plenty of character into the clean, well-lit bar and adjacent dining space. Its casual vibe is furthered by homemade, contemporary bites; several items, like the pork empanadas, pupusas and the giant hot dog bear a distinct Latin American influence. Burgers and sandwiches like the turkey club are also available, if you’re looking to stay north of the border. Desserts such as the dulce de leche-drizzled french toast work well as a sweet nightcap. Food complements a mix of classic and contemporary cocktails slung from the bar. Thursday through Saturday nights, you can reserve a spot in the clandestine speakeasy dubbed The Exhibition Room, where completely different drinks are prepared amid an appropriately dark Prohibition-style setting festooned with historic city ephemera.
