RumFire Restaurant Review:
RumFire, located on the beach and offering views of Diamond Head and the ocean, is more lounge than restaurant with its nightlife scene, extensive cocktail list and small plates menu. The namesake spirit plays a part in many of the drinks, but you can also go beyond the Mai Tai with options like the Smoky Passion Margarita. Guests can sit outside near the water's edge where the atmosphere is more romantic and private, or inside close to the bar to enjoy the lively and upbeat ambience. The kitchen prepares fusion cuisine merging globally-inspired dishes with local ingredients. Selections include Kahuku shrimp bao, lemongrass chicken wings and grilled mahi mahi. For dessert, go for the “s'mores” coconut macaroon with bittersweet chocolate, graham cracker crumble and lacquered marshmallow. There is also a daily happy hour menu. As the sun sets over the ocean, fire pits and beachside torches light up the night and a younger clientele materializes.
