THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rural Society Restaurant Review:
Iron Chef Jose Garces’ Argentine steakhouse makes its home inside the trendy Loews Chicago Hotel, but it could stand on its own. Start with homemade sausages like the rich morcilla (traditional blood sausage) or savory empanadas, easily washed down with a citrusy craft cocktail or bright South American wine. Save room for the wood-grilled steaks, from the super-tender Argentine rib-eye to a leaner flat-iron, sent out sizzling on cast iron platters. Non steak-eaters might like the local chicken and whole roasted fish options, or go family-style and try a pizza or pastas to share. Splurge even more with one of the tasting menus, showcasing a range of small plates and meats. For dessert, don’t miss the Pastel Rogel --- buttery pastry layered with dulce de leche and lemon curd, topped with a soft meringue. Polo horse saddles, numbered uniforms and other paraphernalia maintain the sporty Argentine feel.
